Advertising & Commercial Independence Policy

The ICME Journal of Laboratory Medicine is committed to maintaining strict editorial independence, scientific objectivity, and ethical integrity. Commercial activities, advertisements, or institutional sponsorships associated with the journal are managed completely independently from the editorial decision-making workflow.

All submitted manuscripts are evaluated solely on their scientific merit, originality, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, and clinical laboratory significance. Commercial interests, advertisers, or sponsors have zero influence over peer review, editorial choices, publication timelines, or editorial policy, in strict accordance with the standards of the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME), and the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Acceptable Ad Material

ICME Journal of Laboratory Medicine considers advertisements strictly relevant to the academic, medical, and laboratory science community:

Scholarly publications, academic books, and laboratory science journals.
Pathology conferences, laboratory medicine symposia, and academic workshops.
Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs and lab technical training.
Validated laboratory technology, diagnostic devices, analyzers, and research kits.
Unacceptable Ad Material

Advertisements are strictly prohibited, rejected, or removed if they:

Contain false, unverified, or scientifically misleading diagnostic health claims.
Promote harmful, unapproved, or unethical laboratory or diagnostic practices.
Target articles discussing specific reagents or instruments to imply journal endorsement.
Compromise the ethical reputation or scientific neutrality of the ICME Journal of Laboratory Medicine.
Commercial & Editorial Separation Standards
Strict Visual Separation All advertisements are prominently labeled as "Advertisement" or "Sponsored Content" so readers can instantly distinguish commercial material from peer-reviewed scientific articles.
Zero Juxtaposition Ads for specific diagnostic assays or kits will never be juxtaposed next to articles evaluating those same products, preventing perceived conflicts of interest.
Editor-in-Chief Authority The Editor-in-Chief retains absolute authority to decline, modify, or remove any commercial advertisement that breaches scientific standards or journal ethics.
COPE Adherence & Annual Policy Audits

The ICME Journal of Laboratory Medicine strictly aligns its commercial policies with COPE Core Practices and DOAJ indexing requirements. This policy is audited annually to maintain absolute editorial independence and public trust.

Advertising Disclaimer: Publication of an advertisement or sponsored link in the ICME Journal of Laboratory Medicine does not constitute a guarantee, endorsement, or recommendation of any product, kit, service, or claim by the Journal, Editors, or Publisher.
