The ICME Journal of Laboratory Medicine welcomes original, ethical, scientifically sound, and clinically relevant manuscripts from researchers, laboratory scientists, clinicians, academicians, healthcare professionals, educators, and postgraduate scholars worldwide.

The journal provides an international, peer-reviewed, open-access platform for the publication of diagnostic, pathological, and biomedical research. Authors publishing with the journal benefit from dedicated editorial support, international visibility, and rapid dissemination.

Pre-Submission Checklist & Formatting

Before uploading your manuscript, please ensure compliance with the following structural rules:

File & Document Specs
  • Editable Word document file format (.doc / .docx)
  • Standard A4 page size with 2.5 cm (1 inch) margins
  • Times New Roman, 12-point font, 1.5 line spacing
  • Continuous page numbering throughout the document
Submission Package Components
  • Title Page (separate or top of manuscript)
  • Main Manuscript (blinded for double-blind review)
  • Formal Cover Letter signed by corresponding author
  • Tables, Figures, & Supplementary files
Originality Assurance: Manuscript is original, not published previously, and not under consideration elsewhere.
Author Approval: All listed authors have substantially contributed to and approved the submission.
Ethical Compliance: Institutional ethics approval numbers and informed consent details are clearly stated.
Disclosures: Conflict of interest declarations and funding source disclosures are complete.

Manuscript Structure (IMRAD Format)

Original Research Articles should be logically organized into the following mandatory sections:

1. Title Page: Full title, running title, author names, affiliations, ORCID iDs, and corresponding author email/contact details.
2. Abstract & Keywords: Structured abstract (Background, Objective, Methods, Results, Conclusion) with 4–8 medical/scientific keywords.
3. Introduction & Methods: Rationale of study, hypothesis, concise design, equipment, reagents, procedures, and statistical tests.
4. Results & Discussion: Clear findings supported by tables/figures, clinical significance, comparison with literature, and study limitations.
5. Declarations & Statements: Acknowledgements, Conflict of Interest statement, Funding statement, and Ethical Approval statement.
6. References & Visuals: Complete, accurate citations along with high-resolution tables and properly labeled figures.

Essential Ethical Directives

Generative AI Policy

Artificial intelligence tools cannot be listed as authors. Authors retain full responsibility for data accuracy and must transparently disclose any generative AI usage in writing or editing.

Plagiarism & Data Integrity

Text recycling, duplicate submission, data fabrication, and deceptive image manipulation are strictly prohibited. All submissions are screened using automated similarity software.

Ethics & Patient Privacy

Human/animal studies require IRB/IACUC approval reference numbers. Patient identifying information must be removed unless supported by explicit written consent.

Copyrighted Material Permissions

Authors are responsible for obtaining formal copyright permissions for any previously published tables, figures, images, or extensive quotes prior to submission.

Review & Post-Acceptance Process

1. Double-Blind Review

Manuscripts undergo independent peer evaluation. Decisions: Accept, Minor/Major Revision, Resubmit, or Reject.

2. Production & Proofs

Accepted papers undergo copyediting and layout formatting. Corresponding authors receive galley proofs for final check.

3. Open Access Publishing

Articles are published immediately online with a DOI and made freely accessible worldwide with self-archiving rights.
